Car Insurance for a 16 year old in California?

Posted by in Wednesday, April 11th 2012

Question by Obsessed VQ and L28 Fan: Car Insurance for a 16 year old in California?
I am gonna get either a Used 03-04 Nissan 350z and would like to get a rough estimate of how much insurance is gonna cost. Thanks in advance. Also what would happen to my insurance if the car is on a salvage title?

Answer by G35_Tuner
your 16 and your gonna get a 350z?
lets put it this way…

i drive a 98 honda prelude. i was added on insurance when i was 17 and for liability only, my parents insurance went up $ 600ish a year. for full coverage their insurance increased almost $ 1,000. On a 350z, at the age of 16, just know its probably going to be upwards of $ 800 a year on top of your parents existing insurance. (and that may be liability only)

also, if your car is salvaged title, most car insurance companies wont do more than liability coverage. This means that in the event that you hit someone else, your insurance pays for the damage to the car you hit, but you pay for the damage you did to your own car because that isn’t covered for a salvaged.

Q&A: Anyone know any car insurance company’s that can offer cheap car insurance for a 18 year old?

Question by LostTeen: Anyone know any car insurance company’s that can offer cheap car insurance for a 18 year old?
I am 18 and just bought a Nissan Altima 08. I live in California, Los Angeles. I am trying to get insured and they want to charge me $ 3000 a year. Thats $ 250 a month for car insurance. Its more then my car payments. Anyone know any insurance company that can offer a better deal?

Answer by oklatom
Cheap and 18 is an oxymoron. Add CA to the mix and it gets worse. Then factor in an almost new car…

If you live at home, get added to your parents insurance. If you don’t, talk to an independent agent to see if you can do any better.

We have home owners insurance, will it pay for the leak repacing the ceiling… the entire ceiling is wet and leaking through light socket. Yes, we turned off the power.

well there your kids ? do they lived with you ? or are they kids from another tenant. .

if they are your kids, Usually they wont cover it cause you were at fault, But if they are the tenants kids, Then you could filled the paper works to get it inspected and repair.

Just read the policy to make sure you are cover.

How much does car insurance cost for a 19 year old girl?

Question by saukP8: How much does car insurance cost for a 19 year old girl?
Living in South Jersey. 2 years with a license. No accidents/ tickets. GPA 3.0+. Good credit score. For a used car newer than 2003. I just need a rough estimate. I don’t want some insurance agent to call me for an quote or get random e-mails from insurance companies, right now before I buy a car.

Answer by Bradley G
First of all you are in a high risk to insurance purposes because of
lack of driving experience. You should be able to get insurance for
approx. $ 75 per month. Shop around and hold to this price. I’m 55
with no accidents for over 25 years and I pay $ 27 per month to give
you an idea of where you are at in today’s market.

How much will car insurance be for a 21 year old?

Question by Susie: How much will car insurance be for a 21 year old?
I am turning 21 next week and will be working towards getting my license in a couple months (by April 2011). I was wandering if anyone could tell me how much more would my parents would have to pay for car insurance if they added me in it with another car added (they have two cars currently and they pay about 250-300 ever 6 months). I wanted to pay them the difference of how much more higher the insurance went. Let me know.

Question by CJ: What is the best car insurance for beginner drivers/young drivers 16 year olds?
I am getting my licence at the end of january and need car insurance. What are the best insurances. Some have discounts for good grades

Best answer:

Answer by Ian
Progressive is the best, but it’s always better to be on an adult’s policy. They don’t even have to be related, it’s just that you will pay a much lower premium. You can get discounts if you take a defensive driving course, 10% off liability and collision. You also get discounts for the car’s safety features, as well as owning a home, multi-car, etc.

Q&A: What is a good insurance rate on a 2007 Audi A3 for 18 year old?

Question by bob: What is a good insurance rate on a 2007 Audi A3 for 18 year old?
I was wondering what the insurance on a 2007 2.0L audi A3 would be. we curently have a $ 137 monthly payment with a 2006 Volkswagen Touareg V6, 2001 Ford Sport Trac and a 2001 Dodge Intrepid (my car).

Answer by mbrcatz
Assuming full coverage, you’ll likely be paying upwards of $ 900 a month for the insurance on that car. And I don’t believe you’re paying that little for three cars and a teen driver. Even if it’s “minimum liability”. I’d suspect the teen isn’t listed on the policy.

What is the average insurance rate for a 19 year old male in Austin, Tx?

Posted by in Sunday, March 25th 2012

Question by : What is the average insurance rate for a 19 year old male in Austin, Tx?
PLEASE give me an actual number, not just how I could find out and what “important information” I left out. I have had no accidents and an attending school and will be buying an average car. Thanks in advance

Best answer:

Answer by Cherise Kelley
People are hesitant to give you an actual number without all the important information because if they tell you a wrong number they can be sued. Sorry, but that is the reality. You really need to go to an insurance quote site or an insurance agent. Answer all their questions and let them give you a real quote.

Your insurance could be as cheap as $ 100 a month and as expensive as $ 500 a month. I guess the average is $ 300, but with a range that big the average does not help you much.

Do any insurance companies offer insurance for only part of the year?

Posted by in Sunday, March 25th 2012

Question by : Do any insurance companies offer insurance for only part of the year?
I’m at school for most of the year and was wondering if any companies let you pay for insurance for only a select number of months in which you would be driving/riding your vehicle. I doubt there are but one can hope. Thanks for the help.

Best answer:

Answer by Mike
Most insurance companies will do that. I use Allstate and I add and remove cars all the time. Shouldn’t be a big difference.

Also – there are a lot of insurers that boast about being month to month – so if all else fails, look for one of those (usually these are for hard to insure drivers or people looking for minimum coverage).
