you need rental insurance for the contents but seeing how insurance is also based on credit score now your best bet is to call around and get quotes and then compare….

Question by : does living on an unpaved road affect car or home insurance rates?
I’m doing some research and I can’t find out if living on unpaved roads affect car or home insurance rates. Please help me :)

Best answer:

Answer by Zzonyx
If they don’t ask the specific question while filling the forms, they have no way of knowing that your road is unpaved; therefore, there would be no difference for cars. I don’t know about homes.
If in doubt, ask them to show you the forms or even quote – I assume all you care about is the bottom line in $ $ $ .

Question by : How are home insurance rates in hawaii?

Insurance here is pretty high, but then again, everything is. You HAVE to buy hurricane insurance (can’t think of a number off the top of my head).

The islands are so small that it doesn’t matter where you are, the hurricanes will affect you no matter what. Check out this site, if you want to find the cheapest home insurance just in one minute,

Here you can get free quotes from different home insurance companies in your area, its the best way to find an afforable home insurance with a reliable company.

Question by FaZizzle: How does a home security system affect your insurance rates?
Any advice, negative or positive, would be nice.

We’re considering it, and we’re meeting with the guy who would put it in tomorrow.

How much did you pay?
Is it worth it?
How was your home insurance affected?

Best answer:

Answer by Say Cheese
Most insurance companies offer a discount for MONITORED alarm systems… Wether or not it is worth is something you have to decide based on your need for it and how much you pay for the system + insurance vs insurance alone. I personally believe that your home and your family is your investment and you can put no cost on your familys saftey so IT IS WORTH IT!!

Well, they have the whole volcano thing going on. Plus, Hawaii has incredibly high property values, so you’re looking at much higher limits.

Bottom line, although the actual RATE might be lower, the DOLLAR amount is likely to be almost as high, and the houses are going to cost you WAY more. Just check out the values, at www.realtor.com.

Q&A: Is there a published list of average car insurance rates for all insurers?

Posted by in Sunday, March 04th 2012

Question by : Is there a published list of average car insurance rates for all insurers?
Is there a published list where all auto insurers report their average rates? Basically a comparison chart or similar type information? If not, are insurers required to list their average rates somewhere?

Basically I’m trying to compile a list of insurance rates, hopefully based on the different criteria used by the insurance companies themselves. I’m trying to find a way other than calling each individual insurer to get a ballpark figure on their rates for different types of drivers.
How does Progressive give rates of their competitors to their customers?

Dream on. There is no such list. Even if there were such a list the insurance companies would never allow this to be available to the general public.

Do insurance rates increase based on the extent of your damage?

Posted by in Saturday, March 03rd 2012

Question by hawaiian_princess16: Do insurance rates increase based on the extent of your damage?
I have Safeco insurance. Just wondering how they decicide how much your insurance rates increase after an accident.

Best answer:

Answer by Lawnboy & Luna
It does depend on whether or not you were more than 50% at fault(most states) for the accident and the amount of damage caused to both vehicles. A Minor accident is usually consider to be payment of more than $ 500 exclusive of the deductible. A Major accident is payment of more than $ 2000. You might want to check your states point system. You can probably find info at your RMV’s website
