Question by : How do you obtain life insurance with a red flag on your MIB?
If you apply for life insurance and application is rejected due to an illness reported on your MIB, how do you obtain life insurance?

You can’t. All companies check with MIB. Pre-pay on funeral expenses and invest your money in something that will help it to grow.

Some companies will accept you with an illness and just charge extra for it. It depends on what the illness is. Sorry, I don’t have better news. So, try the suggestions I mentioned.

Good Luck. And, please post again if you have more questions or add/or edit your question.

You go to an independent insurance broker and ask for options and costs.

You go to a local, high risk life insurance broker, disclose the illness to them, and ask them to shop around.

Clearly, DIY insurance isn’t going to work for you. You’ll need to use a broker.

You go with a life insurance company that will accept the condition. The MIB isn’t the hurdle, the condition is. Call a life insurance broker and ask them if they can find you coverage for your condition.

Depending on the condition, there are really only fourteen (14) life insurance brokerage agencies that can fix the problems caused by a negative item at the MIB. These friendly competitors belong to the Risk Appraisal Forum, and I can tell you that they all have distinct advantages when it comes to placing the impaired risk. What this means to you is that maybe one or several of the fourteen can help you better than the others, based on the specific condition. A link to their members is below. I do not work for any of them, but have used them when regular impaired risk channels are ineffective.

You don’t want a local agent, unless you live near one of these fourteen agencies. Avoid agents with an insurance company name on their business card, as they are generally not capable of fixing a negative item in the MIB database.
