Can a mortgage company keep money from a homeowners insurance settlement without paying contractor?

Posted by in Wednesday, March 28th 2012

Question by : Can a mortgage company keep money from a homeowners insurance settlement without paying contractor?
I work for a contracting company and recently we changed the roof on a house that was damaged by a storm. The insurance company sent a check to pay for the work done on the roof. The check was drawn out to the owner of the house and the mortgage company, the owner told the mortgage company to keep the money from the insurance settlement to pay for his past mortgage payments and now the owner has not paid us (the contractor) and the mortgage company refuses to hand over the proceeds to us (the contractor), when the roof has been completely repaired. Is this legal?

Answer by ♥♥The Queen Has Spoken♥♥
Since the check was written to the owner and the mortgage company who ever cashed it can do what ever they want with it.

Sue them for payment.

Why would an insurance company advise against a birthing center?

Posted by in Wednesday, March 28th 2012

Question by Sardiamo: Why would an insurance company advise against a birthing center?
My friend’s insurance company advised against a birthing center birth, as opposed to a hospital birth. She believes this was truly just the representative’s opinion. I do medical billing and told her that there are several reasons why they would advise against it (ie, the additional costs should she need to be transferred to a traditional hospital, their discounted rates with hospitals, the higher possibilities of something going wrong, etc), but she seems to think that’s all hogwash. Any opinions?

Question by Eddie W: What is the best pet insurance company for my puppy?
I just got a 2 month old beagle puppy. What insurance company would be the best for my puppy? And what coverage would I really need?

Best answer:

Answer by luvmybeagle
LINK A PICTURE!! I want to see your beagle! AVID (microchip company) offers some great affordable insurence. As far as coverage is you will want to do all you can afford. Beagles get themselves into alot of trouble with those noses and when they cut those noses on something outside or fall off of a cliff because they didn’t look up.. you will want it covered. haha.. im kidding.. kinda.
Note: (Petplan.. is AVID)

Question by J J: Is a car insurance company entitled to the money from a judgment in court?
The insurance company paid me for the damages to my car and then I sued the person that did the damage. Is the insurance comany entitled to the money I was awarded in court, even though they did not participate in the court proceedings? In fact, I gave the insurance company information on the case and they did nothing to reclaim the money on their own.

Prince Mongo of the Planet Zambodia

Posted by in Monday, March 26th 2012

Prince Mongo of the Planet Zambodia announces plans to move poor people into his mansion on Las Olas Isles: 1990. === Read more text like this: memphishistory.17.websecurestores.com A constant fixture for many years in Memphis, Robert Hodges who refers to himself as “Prince Mongo” (later this morphed into King Mongo and later St Mongo) held a significant segment of the Memphis imagination, especially between the mid 70s to the mid 80s. Possibly it was the fact that Mongo never became boring that kept him in the public imagination. The most prevalent story by far was that Hodges had taken out insurance against the loss of his mental faculties. He then pretended to be insane. The insurance company paid off in the millions, but in order to keep the money Prince Mongo must continue to come across as, at least, eccentric. The second urban legend is that Hodges’ brother is filthy rich and gives him whatever he wants. The idea that Robert Hodges himself may have inherited money has never been explored in my presence and I don’t know the answer to that question.

Earl Nightingale | The Strangest Secret

Earl Nightingale Earl Nightingale (1921 – 1989) was an acclaimed broadcaster, a highly successful entrepreneur, and co-founder (with Lloyd Conant) of the Nightingale-Conant Corporation, one of the world’s largest producers and publishers of personal development and self-help audio programs. Born into poor California family in 1921, on the eve of the Depression, Earl Nightingale was no stranger to overcoming obstacles and conquering difficulties; and he had a unique gift for inspiring others around him to do the same. From the time he was a young boy, Earl was hungry for knowledge. He would frequent the Long Beach Public Library in California, searching for the answer to the question, How can a person, starting from scratch, who has no particular advantage in the world, reach the goals that he feels are important to him, and by so doing, make a major contribution to others? His desire to find an answer, coupled with his natural curiosity about the world and its workings spurred him to a lifelong study of success and what makes people successful. Earl Nightingale’s early career began when, as a member of the Marine Corps, he volunteered to work at a local radio station as an announcer. The Marines also gave him a chance to travel, although he only got as far as Hawaii when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. Earl was one of only 12 men to survive the bombing of the battleship USS Arizona. After five more years in the service, he moved first to Phoenix then Chicago

Is the auto-insurance claim information shared if I switch the insurance company?

Posted by in Monday, March 26th 2012

Question by : Is the auto-insurance claim information shared if I switch the insurance company?
Hi!

I am with auto-insurance company X right now and due to few number of insurance claims that I had made, my insurance is going up. I am wondering if I try to switch to some company Y, will X share my claims information with Y?

Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by BigD
Yes. All claim information received by insurance companies is entered into the Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange (CLUE). When you apply for insurance, your new company will pull your information from this database.

If you said you have had no claims and they find that you did, they can cancel your policy. If they do that, getting new insurance will be near impossible and incredibly expensive.

Bottom line, don’t omit any claims from your insurance application.
