I need to get tags for my car this month, only when I called my car financing company to see how much it is, they told me that my insurance had lapsed, and my registration was suspended!! I had no idea, because my cousin had gotten the insurance for me (we are now estranged, and I don’t have any contact with her), and I was told by her the insurance expired in May. All my documments have been sent to her house (and she refuses to send me my mail) and I had no idea. Now, I’m terrified that I won’t be able to get my registration back, or pay fines, because I just barely have enough to get new insurance and pay for my tags. I have no proof that she bought insurance for me through May or anything. Does anyone else have had to go through this? What will happen? Please help!
Ok, in lieu of a really nasty post, I must clarify something. I was living with my cousin. Cousin paid for 6 months of insurance (she has a discount, and I paid her back). Since I was living with her, I used her address. We had a falling out- I no longer speak to her, nor have plans to keep in touch. However, she refuses to send me my mail. My address has since been updated, AFTER notices were sent to my cousins house. I was being entirely truthful- you just didn’t read my post all the way through. please read through people’s posts before posting nasty replies. It’ll be greatly appreciated.

I would start by calling an insurance company of your choice and explain to them what is going on. They might help you staighten everything out, or point you in the right direction.

I rented a car from Enterprise and declined their insurance. I had credit card insurance. However I made a blunder of not initiating the rental in that credit card. While driving the rental car the tire blew out and the car hit the median and there is some extensive damage to the car. I am in deep trouble now as my credit car insurance will not work as I didnt initiate the car rental in that card. Is there any way that I can salvage this situation? Please help!!

Do you have personal car insurance. Check your insurance coverage, you may be covered for any car that you drive.

Question by : What type of car insurance should I get in Michigan?
I understand that Michigan is a no-fault state, and as a result everyone gets this PLPD insurance or something. I’m moving from Pennsylvania and had full coverage on my car for about $ 90/month. I thought PA and MI were both no-fault, but it seems different and the rates I’m being quoted for the same insurance in MI are higher. I’m so confused!! Also, right now I am on State Farm. I’m 25 but on my mom’s plan, and I am getting married/changing my last name and I now live in Michigan so it is past time for me to pay for my own insurance.
Right now I’m on State Farm, and there are agents both here and in PA, but their rates seem to be high.

Call your insurance agent and verify they cover you in a rental car. If they do then no sense paying extra to the rental company.

I am purchasing a new car and for the first time car insurance. I’ve been shopping around online and Progressive Direct has the best rates for me. I also looked at getting Progressive through an insurance group in my area, which would cost $ 30 more per month for the same amount of coverage. Would it be worth the extra $ 30 per month to get the insurance through an insurance agency in my area?

Have you had any good or bad experiences with Progressive Direct car insurance?

They told my neighbor (and I was there) , they didn’t have any information on her car accident,because she was not at fault,(her car was parked and she was in the house), and she wasn’t liable to even report it to her insurance,, only to his.. NOT smart, if you ask me.

There are alot of insurance places open on Saturdays now!! just not long ago I got tags, insurance, and everything on a saturday!! If there is no place in your town that is open on the weekend, then I would do it online, just do a yahoo search that has ” insurance (your town)” and a list of places should show up!!
